Guitar Hero: On Tour

Have a guitar hero addiction? don’t have a pc, xbox, playstation, wii while on the road? Why not grab yourself a DS and Guitar Hero: On Tour, and you’ll be rocking out in no time at all. When you open the box you are presented with an attachment which plugs into the cartridge slot of your DS and is armed with a grip to put your hand through. Attached to the inside of this “thing” you have a pick which is used to strum on your DS’ screen, wiggle the whammy bar and tap on stuff.

The song selection with this edition is absolutely great, all the way from Blink-182 to ZZ top, this version of the game comes with a 26 song setlist, which isn’t bad for a portable version of the game. Another great thing about this game is the two player challenge mode. Like the other versions of the game, you have your standard guitar string being damaged or your need to unjam your whammy bar, but there are some new ones like, your guitar is on fire an you need to blow it out by blowing into the mic, or some fan wants an autograph because he/she is leaving early because their mom is picking them up, so you are presented with a sheet of paper you must sign.

All in all, this game has a great concept and it is very fun to play, so next time if you are in a car, plane, bus, toilet or funeral home, don’t be afraid to “Rock Out”!

Final Fantasy IV on the Nintendo DS

Ever since its release back in the old days of yore *cough*1991*cough* I was captivated with the plot of Final Fantasy IV, its array of characters and battle system. I remember all those late nights playing it on the SNES… they took its toll… but it was worth it…. *Ahem* But back to the review, Final Fantasy has been redesigned for the Nintendo DS with improved graphics, voice acting, and some new characters, this version still maintains the solid plot and intuitive battle system.

For all those people wanting to reminisce about the old version on the SNES or even people new to the game, you’ll be pleasantly surprised with this stunning remake. It gives a whole new light to the original and provides a different perspective. If you own a DS and you are in need of a new game, I highly recommend Final Fantasy IV to any collection.
